Colorization of Audrey Hepburn Shopping with Her Pet Baby Deer

Audrey Hepburn Shopping With Her Deer Colorized Side by Side Comparison

Whew!! This photo of Audrey Hepburn Shopping with her pet deer was extremely tedious to colorize, but it was also very rewarding to finish.  I apologize for the lack of updates the past few days, but this photo really consumed a great deal of my time.

The products on the shelves were the most time consuming part, partly because I did a good bit of research to make sure I was using the correct color scheme for each brand or product. I used over 250 layers in this colorization and just the left shelf alone took around three hours to complete.

Ive noticed that some fellow colorizers have been trying to pump out work really fast, but end up sacrificing quality for quantity, which is a big mistake in my opinion. Some photos do come together rather quickly when being colorized, but its always a good idea in my personal opinion to step away from the work and then return to it with a fresh set of eyes. You will notice mistakes that your eyes didn’t catch the first time and your creative juices will pop in a few fresh ideas.

I found that is true for doing most anything creatively, whether it be writing a song or drawing a picture, stepping back and taking a bit of extra time and effort can really differentiate your work from those that don’t. Quality over quantity every time, after all, you are going to be judged solely on your work and I would rather have four or five well respected works than 100 mediocre colorizations.

The full size black and white photo is below as well as my colorization. Feel free to share this post on your social network of choice or leave any comments or questions in the comment section below.

Bravo!!! Top notch work. The level of care and attention to detail is beyond awesome! It takes some talent and good taste to do this.
