Black and white photo of Lauren Bacall Colorized
I’ve been taking on some pretty complicated colorizations lately and its nice to just do a headshot that doesn’t have a massive amount of background details involved. Lauren Bacall is one my favorite women from that era, something about her just exudes a subtle badass-ness and I love colorizing her old black and white photos.
The eye color was made using three layers of blue. One dark blue layer for the base with the blending mode set to soft light, One lighter blue layer also on soft light that I traced around the pupil. The third layer I used a almost white light blue set to vivid light blending mode and traced some of the lines throughout the eye, a time consuming process but ultimately a necessary one to create a good eye color.
Please feel free to share this colorization on your social network of choice. The full size images are below and feel free to leave any comments or questions in the comment section below.
