This photo was taken in Silver Springs Florida by Bruce Mozert in 1956. The woman in this photograph is stunt-woman Ginger Stanley who worked on the film “Creature From The Black Lagoon”. Silver Springs was a hot spot in the 1950’s and Bruce Mozert spent the decade photographing his underwater shots of beautiful models in the crystal-clear waters.

When I was younger, my friends and I would travel to the less popular Ginnie Springs, FL and spend the weekend camping and swimming in the consistently 72 degree water. Although the water was freezing, it wasn’t enough to deter us from swimming in the beautiful water and checking out the underwater caves from afar. The frigid water was also an excellent way to shake off a hangover, which were common on those camping trips.
