No helmet and looking elegant. An impressive action shot for the time period, this photo of a woman riding a motorcycle is courtesy of the Library of Congress and was taken in 1918 by Harris & Ewing. The photo was taken in Washington D.C. looking east from East Executive Ave.
None of the buildings in the background remain other than the monument, which is the “General William Tecumseh Sherman Monument”. The Motorcycle in this photograph is a lightweight two-stroke Cleveland motorcycle which were very popular throughout the early 1900s.
